Public Private Partnerships

RANA is a true public/private partnership. Business and residential services on the RANA network are offered by private sector service providers. The RANA network does NOT sell any services to businesses and residents. Customers buy services directly from the service provider of their choice.

Next Generation Broadband

The RANA network is a state of the art fiber network with the standard service connection starting at 100 megabits. If your business needs bandwidth, the RANA network can supply it.

World Class Educational Opportunities

Rockbridge, Lexington, and Buena Vista have a wide variety of higher education training and learning institutions, including Washington and Lee, VMI, and Southern VA University. If you need a skilled workforce, Rockbridge can supply it.

Colocation Opportunities

RANA is constructing a state of the art data center, when construction is complete space will be readily available to providers and businesses. These spaces are ideal for off-site storage and backup systems, and will allow service providers to access customers on the RANA network.

Advancing Healthcare

The RANA fiber network will connect many of the medical offices, clinics, and labs in the community, creating a wide area, high performance network capable of handling even the biggest medical imaging files and data.

Broadband in Rockbridge County

Broadband is not a system or a technology, but rather refers to speed and capacity (bandwidth) of a network connection. Broadband in this context refers to high-speed Internet connections that are always connected (no dial-up) to very high-speed networks, enabling super-fast downloads and uploads. Broadband networks have the potential to dramatically change, enhance, and transform the types of applications and services currently available through todays narrowband Internet. A broadband network can provide customers with a choice of service providers and services.
